Cars in Germany's City Discovered Smeared with Swastikas in Human Blood, Police Report

Authorities reported they were contacted by a individual who found a vehicle in Hanau marked with red-colored liquid

Roughly 50 vehicles have been covered with what seems to be human blood in the Germany's city of Hanau near Frankfurt, police confirm police.

Cars, exterior walls and postal boxes were vandalized, occasionally with prohibited symbols, they reported in a official communication.

Officers report they were contacted during the night on Wednesday night, when a man observed that a automobile in the Lamboy district of Hanau had been covered with a red-colored substance.

The substance had been placed in the form of a Nazi symbol, they stated.

Officers then found numerous other marked vehicles and residential walls in the nearby vicinity.

Nazi symbols are illegal in Germany under laws outlawing the public display of Nazi symbols.

Police report preliminary tests suggest the liquid was likely blood from a person.

"There is still no indication as to its origin; investigators are currently not informed of any injuries in relation with the incident," they commented.

City officials stated they were attempting "to unravel the incident" and have requested to the public for tips.

A high-ranking representative said the incident made him without words and had to be solved rapidly.

"This act hits the very heart of Hanau and reopens the pain of the extremist attack in 2020," he posted on online, recalling the death of nine individuals by a shooter focusing on residents of foreign heritage in five years prior.
