19 of the Russian's 21 titles have been earned on hardcourt

A revitalized Medvedev secured his first title for nearly 30 months with success over Corentin Moutet in the Almaty Open title decider.

Medvedev, a former top-ranked player, has had a difficult season, winning just a single victory at the big events and suffering a difficult moment at the US Open.

The player's inconsistency on the tennis tour - and issues with his serve in specific - led to him falling of the elite rankings and finally separating with former mentor Gilles Cervara.

Presently collaborating with Johansson and Goetzke, he has gradually progressed in the past month - culminating in a hard-fought competitive victory over challenger Corentin Moutet.

This represents his maiden title following the 2023 Rome Masters and first on a hardcourt after March of that year.

The win also signifies he has achieved twenty-one victories at twenty-one various tournaments.

"For the first time I am participating in a competition with my both daughters at once, so to secure a trophy is really nice," stated tennis professional Medvedev.

"This victory is in honour of my younger daughter my daughter, because the initial championship I got when my child my daughter was delivered was for her."

The tennis star, the past champion, had failed in his last six championship matches, including in the German tournament previously this season.

Medvedev's defensive strategy and frequent reactions on the playing surface had prompted some to wonder if his capacity to compete at the highest level was concluded.

However the 29-year-old has implemented adjustments in the last few weeks, striving to approach the net and play aggressively, backed up by an enhanced service.

The champion recovered from a deficit in the first set against the challenging Frenchman, securing 4 of the final five games to take the lead.

The pair traded break points in the second set before Moutet, bidding for his initial professional victory, gained dominance to force a final set.

He rescued 4 early break points in a competitive deciding set before the Russian secured a break to fifteen to serve for the match.

Appropriately, Medvedev secured the win with a rally at the net, with the Frenchman unable to manage a shot after over two and a half hours.
